California Dreamin

I've been so lucky the last few weeks to have been able to visit California twice! First was for the wedding of one of my very best friends, Janelle Butler (now Janelle Root). It was so great to not only be in California and visit my family, but also to get to see and spend time with Janelle, Lauren and Kaylee--3 of my best friends from high school. It's really fun to get together with them because we quickly get right back to "the fearsome 4some" even after all this time. I absolutely love these girls and we've seen each other through a lot over the years--now including 3 of our weddings! Adam opted out of the whole affair for a few reasons: 1. He's responsible and didn't want to miss classes 2. He knew I'd be spending a lot of time with the girls and didn't have the desire to join me in that, and 3. He had a football game on Saturday and felt he'd enjoy that more than a wedding reception (weird huh? BUT he was really glad he did because he made a touchdown that game!!)

Then, this last weekend Adam and I decided VERY last minute that we did not want to spend our 4 day Memorial Day weekend here in Rexburg with basically nothing to do. We called my parents and said "See you in 14 hours, we're coming down for the weekend" and SURPRISE!! They had 2 freeby flights and insisted we use them. We said "No no, thats ok, we'd really rather drive for 14 hours".......PSYCH! We took em up on it and got to be there a little longer because of it. We ate tons of Mexican food, In-n-Out, played mini golf, had a famous dad barbeque, and went to the beach. All in all, it was definitely worth the trip to get out of Rexburg and have a little California R and R!!
