Bath Thoughts
Today I was body sore. My lower back ached from packing and cleaning all day. I got a cramp in my hip which then became so sore I could barely hobble on it. So I decided to soak in a warm bath. I've never been a big bather, but never really connected why. I just figured it was because I hate being pruney..which is also true. But, as I sat in this bath it suddenly dawned on me--I HATE BATHS BECAUSE I DON'T FIT IN THEM!! If I want the water to go up to my neck, my legs stick out. If I want my legs in, I'm al fresco from the waist up. So instead I have to settle for one or the other...and be jealous of those petite pregnant ladies in movies who settle in to a nice soothing bubble bath for their sore muscles. *Sigh* Oh well, like I told Adam in a moment of frustration--Someday when we build our own home I'm going to search far and wide for a long, deep tub I can submerge my whole self in!!

It's No Longer an IT
Yes that's right my friends, we're having a BOY! No surprise there to many of you, including us. We had the boy feeling all along but I have to say that hasn't taken out any of the excitement! We are so thrilled to finally be able to say "he" and also to start narrowing down our name selection. YES we have names, and NO we're not sharing until he is officially named at the hospital! You'll just have to anxiously await the announcement in August. Why? Mostly because we won't know until then either! We're still duking it out between each of our favorites.
The ultrasound was fantastic. It is always wonderful to watch him move and to start seeing his features develop and mostly just to know he is healthy and strong. The nurse showed us everything there was to see from his spine to his bladder to his racing heart. We got some great pictures BUT, much to Adam's dismay, they forgot to print out the classic between the legs BOY shot, so you'll just have to believe us that the organ is present and unambigous.
This signals my halfway point and I can't believe I'm already here! I feel great and I can't wait to start shopping for our little dude. We bought his first outfit (first from us that is) when we got home from the doctor. Any guesses on what it was? If you can't guess, you don't know Adam very well. We bought him his very first FLORIDA GATOR outfit. There were so many adorable choices and definitely some I will probably go back and buy later, but we settled on a onesie/bib/bootie combo. I'll post pictures when it comes next week. Adam is thrilled to welcome HIS BOY into the family. He has already figured out what sports will be starting around the time he is born so they can watch ESPN together.
The only negative of our appointment today was finding out I may have Gestational Diabetes. This came as bummer news, but not necessarily a surprise. With my PCOS, I have a higher risk of Gest. Diab. I go in next week for more tests. We'll hope for the best!
In other news, Adam got his internship placement today. He'll be working on a job in Compton, CA, starting April 18th. We will not be living in Compton however, so no worries! The company sets up our housing for those few months, so we will find out in the next week where we'll be living (most likely Anaheim). We are completely stoked and can't wait to move and get started with this new chapter!
Some pictures for your enjoyment and ours:

Awesome shot of his spine

Sucking his thumb. This is my fave I think he looks so cute!

Flexible like his daddy

20 week belly. It's a little blurry-Adam's not the best photographer

Need Recipes
Our menu is in desperate need of a change-up. I am looking for healthy, perhaps even non-meat (to save $), but FILLING meals. Adam is skeptical that I can find healthy meatless meals that still fill his "man stomach". He doesn't like salad and we're not in to weird tofu hardcore vegetarian type things. If you have any, please post them here or email me: tonya.m.todd@gmail.com
Thanks friends!!

Nice to Meet You?
I have found it so interesting to meet this new person that is Pregnant Tonya. Seriously, I'm not sure I even know myself anymore. I learn something new about pregnant me every day. Like for instance that I am an emotional basketcase. A few weeks ago as I was standing in from of the mirror after a shower examining my changing physique, Adam came in and said "You are so proud of being pregnant". I instantly burst in to tears that I couldn't make stop. I watch TLC's A Baby Story some days and am in tears by the end of every episode, no matter how weird the couple is. I got off the phone with my mom a couple days ago from discussing travel plans for going to my brother's medical school graduation and suddenly I was in the midst of a meltdown just thinking of how proud I am of my big brother (shout out to you Ry!). This isn't me. I am not usually the emotional one. I am usually the one with a guilty dry eye at the end of I don't know, Old Yeller or something sad like that. I didn't even cry at my own wedding!
Another new thing I've learned about my prego self, something I would rather not have learned, is that I am intensely OCD. The smallest things completely gross me out, freak me out, or annoy the heck out of me. For any of you who have ever seen the TV show "Monk" about the OCD detective or whatever he is..that is me! Little things I probably could have shrugged off before, send me to another room gagging now.
Accutane is apparently an acne cure-all, but not a pregnancy acne cure-all. In all fareness I suppose I expected this one. I had bad acne from about the age of 12-20 when I finally went on Accutane for a few months and since then..baby's-butt-smooth. Until Pregnant Tonya made her appearance. Now I feel like I have digressed about 10 years and have returned to tying my hands behind my back so I don't pick at the red bumps all over my face, neck, back, etc. I apologize, that's gross and probably something you really didn't want to know, but it's too late to unread it now.
At the end of the day though, I look in the mirror at my transforming body and feel a little jazz dance in my belly and think "Oh yeah. Totally worth it." And I'm so blessed to not have to do it all alone. Adam is so supportive and just as excited as me, if not more, about all the changes and our soon-to-be baby Todd. He is obsessed with my pooch and loves to rub it while whispering sweet nothings to the baby ("You WILL be a Gator fan, yes you will!") So what if I sit in a weepy puddle, picking at my face while frantically cleaning under my nails? In 5 months, I won't remember any of it cuz I'll be too busy staring at the adorable new member of our family.
