Sunsets

I always held the snobby opinion that California had the best sunsets, hands down. Idaho could not possibly hold anything beautiful, right? Certainly not anything more beautiful than a California sunset. Well, I was wrong. I remember during my first year or 2 here in Idaho, when I would walk home to my apartment after a long day of stressful classes, I would stand in the quad at the center of campus, looking down on the valley as the sun set. Instant stress relief. *Sigh* Well they've recently built a new rather large building which obstructs my old valley view, and besides that fact I am no longer ever on campus. BUT we do have a rather lovely view from our front porch of the ever gorgeous Idaho sunsets.

The other night I went and sat on the back steps and just watched the sun go down. The few clouds were lit a brilliant pink with a backdrop of purple, blue, orange, yellow--you name the color, and it was present. I took a deep breath, looked heavenward, and whispered a soft prayer of thanks for my gift. Is it selfish that I consider every beautiful sunset a personal gift from the Father to me, His daughter.. especially when they're pink??

Well, even if it is selfish, I refuse to give up the thought. Here are some pictures of one of my gifts.

There you go again thinking the sky is yours. Tell me dear sister, does the moon still follow you? Hmm? Does the moon still follow our Mother's little blue-eyed princess?
Those are some gorgeous sunsets. We have some pretty awesome ones from our window out over Utah Lake. Something about the dirty poop water of that lake makes for sweet sunsets. Go figure.
By the way, the post before was me, but I was on Mel's computer so I deleted it because it said I was her and I'm obviously not her, so I signed in as myself and now I'm me.

Yes Brandon it does still follow me, thank you for asking. And in case you were wondering, I am still the princess of the Excalibur in Vegas.

I love a good mountain west sunset! There is something so great about those big open skies.

Oh Tonya you and Brandon are making me so
nostalgic! I had the same memory Brando about Tonya telling us from the back seat of the van that the moon was following her. I'm sure it still does! So leave "My little blue eyed wonder" alone, my "little sunshine boy!"

"tender heart bear" weighing in...Its interesting how after leaving california for a while, you realize how great other places can be. I don't plan on living in california again because there's so many other great places to try out.
