As many of you know, Adam has been having severe issues with his knee. He tore his PCL in the summertime playing football (of course) and had to have it fixed. He had surgery where they put in a new ligament from a dead person (we're hoping an athletic black man's) and his recovery has been absolutely miserable for the last 10 months. Well, he's been having swelling and a lot of pain, so finally the doctor said this isn't normal something's gotta be wrong! They took an MRI and guess what they found?! A torn meniscus and a re-torn PCL (not his fault, because he hasn't been doing anything on it!) So, as we are still paying the medical bills from the last surgery, we decided to just buckle down and get another surgery! He went to the hospital, they cut him open again and put in a scope...and found NOTHING wrong but a little floating cartilage!! Answered prayers my friends!! Lesson learned: never be afraid to ask for a miracle!
Afterword: he just got home from his post-op appointment, removing the stitches and checking on his progress, and the doc freed him to do anything he wants! Upside: exercise....Downside: football starts Saturday (here we go again!!)
After his first surgery:

His MRI-yes those are the real screws holding him together:

As the wife and nurse of an athletic husband who likes to hurt himself doing the sport he love - my heart goes out to you Tonya. Of course my heart goes out to Adam too, but Tonya, I feel the pain of the nurse/wife role. It has it's great moments but also the moments where you want to put hot sauce on their sandwich and make them cry......:) good luck with everything! Just as a side note, I did not EVER put hot sauce on his sandwich I just growled under my breath a lot~
Bless you Rachel, makes me not feel quite so bad about rolling eyes here and there!
